Morning Prayer for Friday

As Christians, we are expected to pray to God. We pray to God because it is one of the most important ways to worship Him. We also pray to God because we want to converse with Him, our heavenly Father. Just as we wake up and talk with our loved ones, we should also talk and spend time with our heavenly Father every morning. We should always begin our day with prayer and devotion to God.

Father in heaven, I thank You because it is a privilege to call You our “Father.” Only in Christ can we commune with You and have access to Your throne of grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do I pray a Friday morning prayer?

How you pray on a Friday morning is similar to how you pray on the morning of any other day. You first think about what your schedule will be for the day and then pray for specific things from that day. After you identify the prayer points you have specified on a given Friday, you can then include them and pray about them in your morning prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us that we are to present our prayer requests to God, and then His peace, which transcends all understanding, shall guard our hearts and minds.

A sample morning prayer is given below:

Father in heaven, I pray for my upcoming fellowship with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that it will be a Christ-exalting and fruitful fellowship. I pray that we shall be able to have fun. Keep everyone safe as they travel to our meeting place later. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Also, considering that Friday is at the end of the week, you can pray and thank God for the things that have happened throughout the week. You do this by taking a pause and thinking about all the things for which you should be grateful to God. It doesn’t have to be grand things. Even trivial things, like being able to eat every day the past week, is something you should thank God for. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.), it is written that we are to thank God in all circumstances, for it is the will of God.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Father in heaven, I thank You for all the sustenance You have provided for my family and me the past week. Thank You for ensuring that we are still able to eat. Thank You for keeping my loved ones and me safe when going to and from work and school. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Morning prayer for Friday sports

One of the events you look forward to on a Friday may be your favorite team playing in the NFL, the NBA, or any other sports league. You can include your favorite team or athlete in your prayers. You can pray for strength upon them, safety from injury, and excellence as they compete in their match.

Below is an example of a morning prayer for Friday sports:

Father in heaven, I pray for (athlete or team) that You will give them the grace they need as they compete against (opposing team or athlete). Keep them safe from any injuries during the game, and I pray that they will be able to win the game. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

While praying every day and every morning might sound tedious, you shouldn’t see it that way if you are in Christ. Remember that we are praying because of our relationship with God. When we pray, it is not something we see as burdensome or routine but rather something we delight in.
