How To Begin Your Day With Prayer

It can be tough to wake up knowing that your situation still hasn’t changed. And sometimes, you can’t even think about praying to God or reading the Bible because your mind is focused on the things that you are dealing with in your personal life. Beginning your day with a prayer, even when you are battling in spirit, is so important because we know the truth that only God is able to deliver us and redeem us from all kinds of situations in life. Prayer is a deliberate and intentional effort, which changes the very state of the mind. Our prayer changes our perception as we release faith, which in turn affects the situation. How does that happen? We begin with renewing our minds with the Word of God; as we engage with God’s word and commune with Him, we speed up the process of thinking as He does. You have to store up God’s Word of promise and stir up the faith in order for you to break through in your morning prayers with God. You have to realign your mind with what God is saying more than what the enemy or your situation is telling you. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” If you declare this Word over your situation, then you don’t even have to battle anything at all. Let God do the battle for you despite your struggles or situation. Remember and be encouraged in this—that situations are never permanent, but our God is constant and steadfast.

And, of course, prayer is not complete without thanksgiving and praising the Lord. Begin your communication with God with thanksgiving. Appreciate the fact that God will never leave you nor forsake you, even in your weaknesses. God is always your defender, and He knows the truth. You are secured in Christ. Praise Him for Who He is despite the situations in your life. Thank Him in advance for the breakthrough that is about to happen. That is why the enemy is trying to drain you by getting into battle mode. When you are battling in spirit, declare the victory of Christ and enter into God’s rest by simply trusting in Your heavenly Father, Who will take care of all things that matter to you. He is faithful. Then you will be able to begin your day with a prayer without having to focus on the battles of life. God has you!
