Morning Prayer For Clarity And Strength

When we pray for clarity, we often talk about morning prayers for clarity and wisdom, morning prayers for clarity and guidance, and morning prayers for clarity and discernment. However, strength is also something we can pray for along with clarity. When things become clear about what we should do, we sometimes need the strength to then do it. 

Father in heaven, as I encounter situations where I need clarity on a decision, give me the necessary strength to commit to it and execute it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Why do I need to pray for clarity and strength?

We need to pray for clarity and strength because we often need clarity when facing complicated or essential matters in our lives. Sometimes, the decisions we make after gaining clarity are not easy, so we need strength to carry them out.

One example is a person asking God for clarity about what his calling is in his life. As God makes it clear, whether through the counsel of godly leaders, Scriptures, or the impression in his heart, that he is called to do missionary work in a country hostile to Christianity, it takes strength to commit and push through with it. 

In the same way, as we pray for clarity and make a choice, given what God has made clear to us, we ought to go through with it knowing which decision is the wisest and which will honor God the most. The same comfort and encouragement for us is that, as written in Philippians 4:13, we can make and commit to that hard decision through Christ, who strengthens us. Also, in John 16:33, Christ said that we ought to take heart. Despite the tribulations that we may encounter, He has already overcome the world.

Heavenly Father, I thank You because no matter how hard the decisions I have to make may be, I can do them through Christ, who strengthens me. Committing to those paths you made clear to me may be challenging, but I can take heart because Christ has overcome the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do I pray to God for clarity and strength?

You pray to God in the morning for clarity and strength by lifting to God the specific matter that you need clarity on and asking God to clarify the choice or path you should take. It is written in Philippians 4:6 that we ought to present our prayer requests to God. When praying for clarity, we take the example of David in ( Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Psalm 143:8), where he asked God to tell Him which way he should go. As we seek out God for clarity in our morning prayers, we know through His Word that He shall counsel, instruct, and teach us how to go, as written in (I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8).

As you pray for clarity, pray that when you know which way to go, you will also have the strength to commit to it. You can pray for this by asking God to give you the strength and grace you need to commit and push through, whatever it is, in the way He makes known to you.

Father in heaven, I ask You for clarity about whether I should continue dating my partner. Make known the way that I should go, and show me which is the wiser and more glorifying decision to make. Whatever my choice, whether to break up or continue dating, give me the grace and strength to stick to it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

When we find ourselves in complicated situations, we often need clarity to make decisions that can be difficult for us, given the situation’s complexity. However, the Holy Spirit strengthens and empowers us to do what God wants us to do, even if that next step is hard or painful.
