Blessing people is always the Father’s doing, for such is His will for all mankind. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 5:45 that God “maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” He is such a good and Heavenly Father that even the wicked and ungrateful are blessed by Him, so that they may come to know His love one day.
As a child of God, know that you can always ask God for His blessings the moment you get up in the morning. There are many ways that God can bless you, depending on what you’re asking for and what He wills to bless you with, for there are both physical and spiritual blessings. For instance, you may want God to bless you with wisdom and strength for the day. You can ask God for this blessing early in the morning in this manner:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful day and for breathing new life within me. As I go on with my plans for the day, I ask that You bless me with Your wisdom and strength so that I may face every challenge and trial victoriously through Christ. May I bring glory to You today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
You can also ask God for physical blessings, such as a promotion at work, financial blessings for your family, a blessing on your career, your plans for buying a car or house, and so on. You can always ask the Father freely, and He will give to you generously, according to His will.
When it comes to blessings, God never holds back good things. Romans 8:32 says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Jesus also said in Matthew 7:11, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?” God’s Word shows us that God is such an amazingly good Blesser and Giver of all good things.
With that in mind, don’t hesitate or be shy when you want to ask Him for a blessing. Just pray and ask our gracious Heavenly Father, who freely gives us all things.
What spiritual blessings can I ask God for in the morning?
Spiritual blessings are far greater than physical blessings, for we know that heavenly blessings last for eternity, whereas physical blessings are only temporal ones that can rust, be stolen, or even destroyed (see Matthew 6:19-20).
If you’re looking for guidance on what spiritual blessings you can ask God for in the morning, it is best to look for them in the Word of God. God’s Word is filled with spiritual blessings given by God and asked for by God’s people. As you look for spiritual blessings in the Scripture, you can also turn them into prayers of declaration. Here are some of the spiritual things in the Bible that you can ask God for in the morning:
- Spiritual Gifting (1 Corinthians 12:1-10; 13:1-14:1)
- Presence of God (Exodus 33:14)
- Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
- Salvation and eternal life for unsaved loved ones (John 3:16)
- Spirit of sonship (Romans 8:15)
- Joy in the presence of God (Psalm 16:11)
- Hunger and thirst for heavenly things (Matthew 5:6)
- An encounter with God’s presence (Psalm 34:8)
- God’s Anointing (Luke 4:18)
- Healing and deliverance (Isaiah 53:5)
- Freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17)
- Purity in the heart (Matthew 5:8)
There are many other spiritual blessings that you can ask God for in the morning as you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you through the Scriptures. As you ask God for blessings, according to His will and His Word, you can expect miracles and breakthroughs to come to you, as God is always faithful to His Word. When you pray and declare God’s Word, heaven moves, and the angels act upon it. That’s why you shouldn’t hold back from asking God, for He isn’t withholding and will give you His blessings.
