Morning Prayer For Gratitude For My Nursery Class

A nursery class is the part of a school program that attends to children as young as three to five years old, providing them with early education and childcare. Having these children entrusted to your care as a nursery teacher is an honor and a great privilege from God, enabling you to watch over, care for and educate such precious souls.

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify You for this wonderful morning. Thank You for blessing me with the precious souls in my nursery class. I declare Your presence, wisdom, and protection upon everyone today at school, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

How can I teach my nursery class to pray?

Saying a morning prayer of gratitude for your nursery class is a great way to start your work with God. Additionally, teaching your nursery class to pray is a powerful way to mold their view of and relationship with God. As mentioned earlier, children in this age group can only process and understand simple things. 

To teach them to pray, you can say simple prayers each day that can help the children understand and visualize the image of our Heavenly Father. You can say a prayer in this manner:

Dear God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for taking care of my family and me and giving me food, toys, and everything I need, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You can also do it creatively, such as through a simple Christian song for kids, by making prayer rhymes, or other visual materials to help the children process and understand what prayer is. 

Help your nursery class understand that prayer is not a ritual but a relationship with God. You can do this by example. For instance, before starting the class, you can show them that you are asking Abba Father’s help to guide and give you the wisdom to teach them. You can also allow the kids to lead prayers and talk to God from the bottom of their hearts.

You can even demonstrate God’s healing power in your nursery class. For example, when a child feels unwell, you can pray for them and declare healing in the name of Jesus. Children will learn by example and the actions of adults. Since you always run to God for help first thing, your nursery class will begin to understand that God must be the first one they run to before anything or anyone else, for He is powerful and faithful.

Just know that the Spirit of God is within them, even though they may be too young to understand everything. You must not underestimate what the Holy Spirit can do in their lives and that prayers, even with simple words, are powerful and effective. After all, we are spiritual beings, and things take place fast in the spiritual realm before manifesting in the physical one.

With the help of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God, know that you are His powerful and anointed vessel that carries heaven’s atmosphere and the presence of God. He will always give you wisdom, anointing, and the power to mold your nursery class into a godly and powerful generation for Christ Jesus.
