Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Unity

Whether it is unity among the believers of Christ Jesus, in sports, in a company, in a family, or in a marriage, there are great reasons to be thankful to God when such connections are achieved. Unity doesn’t just happen without sacrifice, effort, and teamwork. You are here because you are grateful to God for the unity that has occurred in your life.

Whatever your case may be, you can say a morning prayer for gratitude for unity in this manner:

Heavenly Father, all the praise and glory to You as I wake up today thinking about the unity that was made possible by You. Thank You for Your presence and anointing that made this unity possible. I pray that we will always be united in Your name and remain firm in Your love through Christ Jesus. Amen.

Unity is powerful because whenever there is unity, perfect communication, teamwork, and goals can be achieved. We can learn unity from the story of the Tower of Babel in the Old Testament.

The people at that time had one language, and they were all able to understand each other. Although their intentions and hearts were against God’s will, they were united in achieving their goal of making a building that reached the heavens. Even God was amazed by them, so much that He had to stop them by changing their language. Because the people could no longer understand one another, the building of the tower was stopped.

God knew that if He hadn’t changed their language, they would have achieved their goal because of their unity.

“And the LORD said, ‘Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech’” – Genesis 11:6-7

How do we maintain unity?

Saying a morning prayer for gratitude for unity is one way to acknowledge God’s doing first thing in the morning. We know that when we acknowledge God, He directs our every step (In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6).

Aside from praying and acknowledging God in the morning through prayer, unity can be maintained by constant communication with all parties involved. In every successful relationship, communication is key. When everyone is open to communicating and listening with their hearts, there is less miscommunication, so misunderstandings and assumptions can be prevented. Thus, unity and teamwork are possible because of understanding through communication.

Moreover, partnering with the Holy Spirit as believers of God is crucial to maintain unity after it has been achieved. After all, the enemy will continue to work in order to steal, kill and destroy (The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10).

How to stay united amidst disagreements?

Disagreements in marriage, families, friendships, church groups, and all other circles and teams are common. Everyone doesn’t always agree on some things because God gave each of us unique perspectives, personalities, differences in cultures, upbringing, etc. So, how can one still be united despite the differences revealed through arguments and disagreements?

Unity is still possible, despite our diversity. True unity is achieved when a team manages to stay together, despite their differences in views and opinions. The Bible says that we must be humble, stay loving, compassionate, and forgiving towards each other so that we can remain united, despite the many challenges. Philippians 2:3-4 says, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”

When love, honor, respect, and gratitude remain constant in a team, not even disagreements and differences can separate and divide them. It is important to build this kind of culture in your home, company, church, school, and everywhere else if you want to maintain unity in Christ Jesus.

Most of all, be rooted and guided by the Word of God, which is powerful and effective in thwarting the schemes of Satan, the initiator of division, pride, and ruin.
