Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Love

God’s love through Jesus Christ is our greatest gift as believers. We can wake up each day with a grateful heart for the rest of our lives because all of us who believe in His name once lived in darkness but were redeemed by His love, mercy, and grace. Because of God’s love, we have also learned to love Him and other people (see 1 John 4:19 – We love him, because he first loved us.).

As you wake up with a thankful heart, here is a morning prayer for gratitude for love:

Heavenly Father, thank You for a morning filled with Your love. Thank You for loving me first and for teaching me how to love like You. I am blessed to have known You and known true love through Jesus Christ. May You be glorified in all things that I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Moreover, receiving love from others is also a great gift. Having a spouse who unconditionally loves and cares for you, children who honor and are affectionate toward you, friends who are always there for you no matter what, and so on—these people make our hearts overflow with so much love. You can thank God for their lives as you wake up each day. 

You can declare and pray scriptures over them as you pray and speak God’s promises into their lives and situations. This is one of the things that you can do every day as you wake up in the morning and live a life of gratitude for love.

How can I thank God for love?

God demonstrated His love for us through the sacrificial and unconditional love that is in Jesus Christ. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.). We are very blessed to have known this kind of love that allows us to live in so much freedom, joy, peace, and overflowing love for others.

Think about these things as you wake up in the morning and let your heart be filled with gratitude for our God because of the love that He imparted to us. You can say directly to God, “Thank You, Father, for loving me unconditionally.” 

Here are some of the things that you can thank God for because of His love:

1. Thank Him for daily strength.
2. Thank Him for daily protection.
3. Thank Him for daily provisions.
4. Thank Him for your loved ones and friends.
5. Thank Him for your job.
6. Thank Him for your employees or employers.
7. Thank Him for your calling.
8. Thank Him for your friendship with God.
9. Thank Him for your spiritual family and siblings in Christ.
10. Thank Him for your leaders and pastors.
11. Thank Him for your Church.

There are many things for which You can thank God every morning. As you think about His goodness and faithfulness, the Holy Spirit will stir a heart of gratitude within you and let that flow into your morning prayer.
