Morning prayer for Entrepreneur’s new year

A new year is exciting for everyone, especially if you are an entrepreneur. For your company or startup, you may have a goal you hope to achieve in the coming year. You may also have some endeavors you plan to pursue for the year. It is exciting because you have things that you look forward to accomplishing.

Father in heaven, thank You for another year that You have given our company/startup. I pray that this new year will be another great one for us and that we shall overcome any challenges our endeavor may cause us to face. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What is an effective prayer for the new year?

If you are an entrepreneur and you are in Christ, then your prayers are not just effective but also powerful. In James 5:16, it is written that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and that it is working or effective. The prerequisite for one’s prayer to God to be powerful and effective is for the one who prays to be righteous. This is a given because why would God listen and answer the prayer of His enemy in the first place? In Romans 5:10, it is written that we are all enemies of God because of our sins, but Christ reconciled us to God.

In other words, our prayers are powerful and effective only because of Christ. If a person is in Christ, Christ’s imputed righteousness is upon the person. Not only that, he or she becomes adopted as God’s child, as written in Ephesians 1:5. It also gives us access to God’s throne of grace, as written in Hebrews 4:16. This blessing is all because Christ paid the penalty for our sins. He took our sin and paid for it while we received Christ’s righteousness, and so we are justified in the eyes of God. If we are in Christ, God looks at us and is well pleased with us, not because of our righteousness but because of Christ’s.

In 2 Corinthians 5:21, it is written that Christ, Who knew no sin, was made to be sin so that we may become the righteousness of God. It is only through Christ that we can be righteous and therefore pray prayers that are powerful and effective. If you are in Christ, your prayers are already mighty.

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to pay on the cross for our sins, for which we have received forgiveness and eternal life. Not only that, but His work justifies us in Your eyes so that You see Your Son in us. We don’t have a righteousness of our own but of Christ; therefore, our prayers are valuable. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How to pray a morning prayer for an entrepreneur in the new year

For an entrepreneur, one of the ways you can pray to God in the morning of the new year is by thanking God for His faithfulness the past year and even the previous years. You do this by first thinking about what happened the previous year(s). What were the challenges or obstacles that you, as a company or startup, were able to overcome? What goals were you able to achieve? What are the good things that have happened despite the terrible times? As you think about those things and remember them, thank God for them in prayer.

Father in heaven, thank You for giving us the strength and grace we needed to get by during one of our most challenging times last year. Thank You for helping us overcome the obstacles that we faced. Thank You for the deals that You allowed us to close and for helping us achieve our goals. Thank You for keeping us all safe every day as we traveled to work and back last year. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Your company or startup is still there because God has been gracious and merciful in sustaining it. You get by and overcome any challenges or obstacles you face as a company all because of God. Whether it’s big things or small things, and whether the past year was great or terrible for you, there are always features that you ought to thank God for. Something else you can thank God for is the new year that is about to come. It is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 that we are to thank God in all circumstances.

Besides thanking God, you can also pray to God in the new year by sharing with Him the things that you look forward to or hope for in the new year. In 3 John 1:2, it is written that we are to pray to God that all may go well for us. You can ask questions such as, What are the things that you would want to pray for so your business does well in the new year? or What are your endeavors as a company or startup? As you think of what you look forward to or hope for the new year, lift it to God in prayer. It is written in Philippians 4:6-7 that we are to present our prayer requests to God so that His peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds.

Father in heaven, I pray we can scale our company this year. I pray that we will be able to hire more talent and that they will contribute fresh ideas to our company. We also look forward to the fruition of specific projects we have been working on since last year. I pray that this new year will be a year of growth and progress despite the challenges that we will undoubtedly face. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

As you look forward to the new year, remember never to forget God. Thank Him for His grace, mercy, and faithfulness. Whenever God brings your business to greater heights, always remember why you are doing what you are doing—to expand God’s kingdom, be the salt and light to the world, and proclaim Christ.
