How to Pray to God in the Morning When You Are Angry with Him

It is common for God to see people coming to Him in their prayers, very angry and blaming Him for things He hasn’t done. We live in a world that is full of lies and deception; that is why it is so easy to get frustrated or angry and harbor hatred or bitterness without a full understanding of things.

Know that it is never God’s will to hurt people, cause sickness upon them, take away life, or plan accidents and tragedies in their lives. God’s desires and thoughts for each one of us are always good. Psalm 139:17-18 says, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”

According to His Word, God’s wonderful thoughts about you outnumber the sand in the sea, and He has no intention of causing stress and disappointment in your life.

Perhaps you think you have a reason to be angry at God, and somehow you want to break through with that in your morning prayer. How can you pray to God in the morning when you are angry at Him?

The solution to your anger with God is, of course, getting rid of the lies of the enemy regarding your perception of Who God is. As you have read from the scripture above, God has no intention of breaking your heart, for He knows the matters of your heart.

Anything that has to do with killing, stealing, and destroying in your life is definitely from the enemy (see John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.).

Many people mistakenly think that God is in control of everything, including bad things such as accidents and sicknesses. The enemy accuses God in front of us. If we fall into the trap of what he presents, we will find our perception of God distorted. Imagine, can a God in Whom there is no darkness ever think evil of you? Past experiences with people can sometimes distort our view of Him. Does this sound familiar? “God took my loved one away because He wants me to get closer to Him.” Or how about this one? “God is using cancer to humble me.” The question is, is that really what we see through the life of Jesus that God has provided to fully reveal Himself?

Remember that God has given all of us free will. God is sovereign over all things, but He is not controlling anyone’s life. With His gift of free will, He has given us the freedom to choose, and the quality of our life is based on the choices that we have made.

That is why it is so important that we always commune with God and be filled with the knowledge of His Word. God’s Word is God’s will. When we know the Word of God and our hearts are full of it, deception and lies cannot penetrate us, for we are aligned and walking according to His Word.

So, as you pray in the morning, simply come to the Father and ask for His forgiveness for believing in the lies of the enemy. Then get yourself soaked in God’s Word every day so that your mind and heart are aligned with God’s will.
