Clarity is only one of the facets we pray for when making life decisions. While we pray for God to make it clear to us the path that we should follow or which is the wiser choice, we also ought to pray for God to guide us through our decision-making process.
Father in heaven, thank You because Christ is my shepherd, Who constantly guides and leads me. Make me more sensitive to Your leading so that I may walk the path You are guiding me onto. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What does the Bible say about God’s guidance?
Proverbs 16:9 says that man may plan their way, but God establishes their steps. In other words, we may make plans, consider options, and attempt to make decisions in life, but in the end, it is God Who guides us. Also, in Psalm 32:8 (I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.) it is written that God instructs us and teaches us the way that we should go. He gives us counsel as we make decisions in life. In other words, God always guides His people to where they should go. If we are in Christ, we are always in the hands of Christ, Who is our good shepherd and guides us as we walk through life.

Guidance is not something we are to pray for only when we need to decide things in life. If we encounter storms in life, we sometimes lose clarity and focus. We are so overwhelmed by worries and fears that we don’t know what to do. However, in these times, God guides us on what we should do next. God helps us navigate the storms in life. As written in Psalm 23:4 (Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.), we are not afraid whenever we walk through the valley of the shadow of death because Christ is with us. His rod and his staff guide us and comfort us.

Father in heaven, I thank You because Christ is my shepherd, Who guides my decision-making process. Whenever I feel overwhelmed with storms, I thank You because You guide me and show me what to do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Morning Prayer for Clarity and Guidance
There are many ways in which God guides us. God guides us primarily through His Word. In Psalm 119:105, the Word of God is described as the lamp to our feet. If we need a light to guide us as we walk through life, we should seek God’s Word. God can also guide us through impressions from the Holy Spirit, godly counsel from other people, and life’s circumstances.
How do I pray in the morning for clarity and guidance?
You pray in the morning for clarity and guidance by first thinking of the particular problem you need clarity and guidance on and then asking God for it. It is as simple as that. For example, let’s say a father just lost his job, is in a dire situation, and does not know what to do, given that he has a family to care for. The prayer can then become something like this:
Father in heaven, You are the God Who provides. I pray that I will always maintain focus and clarity for the truth that You are the One Who sustains my family and me. Guide me to what I should do next, given that I’ve lost my job. As I look for a new job, lead me toward one that will compensate me better and provides a good work environment. In Jesus’ name, pray. Amen.

The verses mentioned above clearly show that God constantly guides His people. That means sometimes it is not a matter of asking God for clarity and guidance but of being sensitive and obedient to what God has been making clear and guiding us toward. Psalm 31:3 tells us that He leads and guides us for His name’s sake. Below is an example of this kind of morning prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You because You always guide and lead me for Your name’s sake. You never leave me nor forsake me. I pray that I shall always seek Your Word and let its lamp guide my feet. Help me to be sensitive about where You are leading me and obey You no matter what. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

In Proverbs 3:5-6, it is written that we are to trust the LORD with all our heart and not to lean on our understanding. It means that as we make decisions, we should continuously pursue those that honor God. As we do that, God straightens our paths.
