Daily Morning Prayer For Clarity

While there are prayers for clarity that we occasionally pray when we have to make a big decision, there are also morning prayers for clarity that we can pray daily. What we pray for is clarity regarding our upcoming day.

Heavenly Father, help me face today with a clear mind. Guide me and give me wisdom as I handle today’s matters. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

A good morning prayer for clarity prays for clarity regarding daily matters that cause us to lose clarity or be consumed with stress and other emotions we do not know what to do with. Whether we are parents, students, working professionals, etc., we sometimes encounter matters during the day that could overwhelm us.

An example of this is a police officer who is about to go on duty. This work involves dealing with volatile situations; so they can pray for clarity in the morning as they go to work to have a clear and calm mind whenever they encounter intense situations.

In other words, a good prayer for clarity is one where we ask God to disperse the fog caused by overwhelming emotions regarding certain daily matters and help us have a clear and calm mind so we can think sensibly and exercise wisdom.

One of the things the Bible teaches us to help us have a clear mind is that we should fix our eyes on God. King Jehoshaphat exhibited an excellent example in 2 Chronicles 20:12 (O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.). Jehoshaphat was the king of Judah. They were about to face an army that they couldn’t stand against. Then, King Jehoshaphat called on Judah to fast and cried out to God that they didn’t know what to do, but their eyes were on Him.

We may find ourselves daily in a similar situation as Jehoshaphat’s when we don’t know what to do. However, our response should be to fix our eyes on God. We have clarity as we fix our eyes on God and cast our fears and worries on Him.

Father in heaven, remind me to always fix my eyes on You and cast my cares to You regarding the things that cause me fear and worry this day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do I pray to God for clarity?

We pray to God for clarity regarding daily matters that cause us some worry, fear, and other overwhelming emotion by surrendering them to God. We capture those things that cause us worry or fear and submit them to God. For example, suppose a student is worried about an exam he will take. In that case, the student can pray in the morning for clarity by surrendering to God his concerns regarding his exam and then asking God to give him a clear mind as he surrenders those serious worries to Him.

Clarity is related to peace; a clear mind is a mind that is at peace. In Philippians 4:6-7 it is written that when we present our prayer request to God, He gives us a peace that transcends all understanding and guards our hearts and minds.

Heavenly Father, as I face another day, I pray for the grace to face whatever challenges ahead with a clear mind. As I take my exam today, I surrender all my worries to You. Give me peace and a clear mind as I take my exam. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Every day we can encounter challenges or problems that could cause us to lose our clarity and focus. That is why clarity is one of the things that we can pray for in the morning as we navigate through life each day.
