Morning Prayer for Weekend

As the weekend approaches, most students, parents, and professional workers are feeling the anticipation for rest and relaxation. It is also a time to spend with brethren and ministerial work for many churches across the globe. 

You are here because you are looking for a morning prayer for the weekend. We must praise and thank God for sustaining us during the week. Here is a prayer to offer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for this morning, as I can think of Your strength and anointing that has sustained me during the week. As the weekend is now here, I pray for it to be fruitful in Christ Jesus as I continue to yield to Your Spirit. May it be filled with Your presence, and may Your name be glorified in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Despite changing customs and practices around the world, the concept of weekends remains the same. They represent rest and rejuvenation for the mind, body, and soul. Rest is so important that even God rested on the seventh day from all His work (see Genesis 2:2-3).

It is important that we set apart time where we can rest and replenish our bodies and more importantly, spend time with God and His Word—the source of healing. It is God’s will that we not only prosper in our souls and in the things we do but also in our bodies. 

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” – 3 John 1:2

So, whether your weekend begins on Saturday, Sunday, a day off on Monday (Morning Prayer on Monday), or during the week, make sure to get enough rest and spend time with God and all your loved ones.

A weekend for some can mean taking a break from all the pressure of the week. It can also mean time for friends and family, while others may remain at work, depending on particular company and institutional protocols.

Saying a morning prayer for the weekend is one way to pray over your Saturdays and Sundays—by waking up early in the morning and giving thanks to God for all that He has done throughout the week. You can also pray for God’s divine protection over you and your family if you are planning a weekend trip. You may also pray for your pastor, church service, and ministries as the begins. Simply allow the Holy Spirit to put specific things in your heart that you can pray on the weekend. He will never fail to reveal to you God’s perfect will for the weekend.

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God” – Romans 8:26-27
