Morning Prayer For Hustlers

In today’s culture, hustling has both positive and negative connotations. Hustlers are sometimes just hard-working people who want to succeed. However, in the dictionary, you will also find that “hustlers” is a term used for people who use fraud and deception to gain money from others. One example of such a hustler is a conman or a swindler. 

Father in heaven, I thank You because You show grace and mercy to sinners by making adoption and forgiveness available through Christ. You make the life of a repentant person new, and in Christ, they become a new creation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do I pray to God for hustlers?

In 1 Timothy 2:1 (I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;), the Bible teaches us to make prayers, supplications, and intercessions for all people. That includes those people who societies would label undesirable or evil, such as hustlers who use fraud and deception for unjust gain. However, why do we have to pray for them? Well, we must not just pray for them but also reach out to them. Praying for them is only the beginning or one of many different things we should do. 

When Jesus came to Earth, He did not go to those who think of themselves as righteous, like the Pharisees. He came to the ones who had been ostracized by society because of the evil things that they had done. One example is from Luke 19:1-10, where Jesus went to Zacchaeus and ate in his house, after which Zacchaeus repented and followed Christ. In Mark 2:13-17, we can also see that Jesus spent time and ate with sinners.

The same motivation for Jesus to spend time with the sinners is why we must reach out to them. We are to preach the truth that you can only find eternal life if you repent and believe in Him, such as in the case of Zacchaeus. In John 14:6 (Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.), Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life. That means that how we pray in the morning for hustlers is as simple as praying for their hearts that they shall repent, turn to Jesus, and commit to following Him for the rest of their lives.

An example of this is the sample prayer below, which you can use when you pray for hustlers in the morning:

Heavenly Father, I pray for hustlers who use unjust means for unjust gains. I pray that You will lead them to get to know You and have an opportunity to hear the Gospel. I pray that You will work in their hearts so that they may humble themselves, give up their evil ways, and repent. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What is a good prayer for hustlers?

A good prayer for hustlers is one concerning their salvation. Indeed, you can also pray for their well-being. However, their ultimate need is salvation from the wrath of God. They will never experience forgiveness, adoption as God’s child, or eternal life unless they are in Christ. Only in Christ can they find the joy that money and material things fail to give.

With that, there are two good prayer points that you can pray for hustlers. One is praying that the Holy Spirit shall open their spiritual eyes, just as the Holy Spirit opened the spiritual eyes of the man born blind in John 9:25, seeing his need for Christ, unlike the Pharisees. The second one is praying that the Holy Spirit shall turn their hearts of stone to hearts of flesh so that they may receive the Gospel and repent. In Ezekiel 36:26, we see that turning a heart of stone into one of flesh is something only God can do.

Holy Spirit, I pray for hustlers who use fraud and deception to gain money. I pray to you, Holy Spirit, that someone can preach the Gospel to them. As they hear the Gospel, I pray that You will turn their hearts of stone into hearts of flesh so that they won’t resist the Gospel. Instead, they shall humble themselves and repent and believe in the finished work of Christ. Open their spiritual eyes so that they may see their need for Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

We know that no matter how “evil” a person may be, no one is too far from the grace of God. Once the Holy Spirit works in a person’s heart, they will not be able to help but repent and follow Christ, knowing the grace and mercy that God has shown them. If the apostle Paul, who used to persecute Christians, eventually became a follower of Christ, then hustlers have a great potential for grace and salvation.
