Morning Prayer of Gratitude for Healing the Sick

Healing the sick is one of God’s ways of manifesting His presence in our lives; it increases a person’s faith, hope, and trust in Him. Healing is God’s will, and sicknesses are not from Him. Jesus Christ said in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for filling my morning with hopes and promises. As I look on Your power and ability to heal the sick, I can’t help but overflow with praise and awe for You. May You continue to heal all those who are sick and use my life to be a vessel of Your healing power in the name of Jesus. Amen. 

Moreover, God does not just heal the sick, but He entrusts such healing powers through Christ Jesus and on to us who believe in His name. Jesus Christ said in John 14:12: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Because the Holy Spirit lives in us, God has entrusted us to continue the works of Christ to heal the sick, raise the dead, set the captives free, and aggressively advance the Kingdom of God through our obedience to His Word (see Matthew 10:7-8).

The enemy is terrified when a child of God continues the works of Christ here on earth by becoming His willing vessel, available for the Kingdom works of God. When you think about such a great privilege, responsibility, and power to heal the sick, you cannot help but be grateful as you wake up in the morning. 

How can I heal the sick according to the Bible? 

God’s healing can cause our hearts to swell with gratitude for His goodness and faithfulness in the lives of those affected. Our testimonies and those of others cause the body of Christ to glorify God when we share His power and miracles in our lives. Moreover, He also uses us as His vessel of healing power to continue the works of Christ on earth. This causes us to wake up and say a morning prayer of gratitude for healing the sick. 

As Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:7-8, He has given us the authority to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons freely as we received freely from Him. 

Do note that you are not the one healing the sick but the Spirit of Jesus Christ dwelling inside you. Although He uses us as vessels for His Spirit to manifest His healing power, Jesus Christ remains the Great Healer in our lives. We allow ourselves to be used by God through our walking in obedience to His Word. In the name of Jesus and by the authority of Christ given to all who believe, we can heal and set the captives free. 

As Jesus Christ has promised, when you believe in the power of Jesus’ name and do not waver in your heart, you will do greater things than He did on earth.

What to do if someone doesn’t get healed when I pray for healing

It is always easy to be grateful when things go according to our plans. For instance, when someone who is sick gets healed, it’s easy to swell with gratitude in the morning as we pray to the Lord. But what about if healing doesn’t happen or when things are not going smoothly?

It isn’t uncommon for a believer to experience laying hands on the sick but the sick don’t get healed. Though you believe in the name of Jesus, don’t be discouraged when healing doesn’t take place in an instant. It is still Jesus Christ Who heals and not you. Let God do His thing as you continue to obey His command to heal the sick in the name of Jesus. 

We can only let God manifest according to His perfect will. When healing doesn’t occur, we can still trust God’s perfect ways and reasons. Sometimes, a person can get healed in a month or even many years after a prayer. 

Sometimes, God’s complete healing needs cooperation from the one who is sick and many other factors as well. When they asked Him to heal them, Jesus instructed them to show themselves to the priest. It was only then, along the way, that they were all healed (see Luke 17:11-19).

And no matter the result of our obedience, what matters is that God remains faithful in all areas of our lives. That is something that we can be grateful for every morning. We may not understand everything, but we can trust and be confident in Him, Who has never once failed us yet.
