Heavenly Father, I praise You and lift You high first thing in the morning. Thank You for guiding me and for blessing me with amazing people. May Your will be done today in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Guidance

Guidance is one of God’s faithful promises to all those who believe in Him and His Word. Isaiah 58:11 says, “And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.”

"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."

You must spend time reading God’s words so that you will know His ways and principles. The more you know His Word, the more the Holy Spirit can speak to you and remind you of the right path that leads to life.

God guides us so that we can make the right decisions in life and keep the devil away. In the same manner, He sends people who look after, correct, and discipline us so that we won’t fall for the same traps and mistakes they went through in life.

If you have these people in your life, you may also say a morning prayer of gratitude (Morning Prayer of Gratitude Every Day) for their lives and bless them in the name of Jesus.

How do I know God is guiding me?

When your life is filled with gratitude, it is a sure sign that you are guided well. After all, only a thankful heart can give you clear perspectives as you wake up in the morning and truly worship God in spirit and truth.

As mentioned earlier, the only way to know God’s ways and principles is by spending time with His Word. The Bible is written by God’s people to reveal the Father’s heart in Christ Jesus. You will know God’s voice and be sensitive to His Spirit the more you know His Word and understand His ways through the Scriptures. It is important that you not only read Scripture but also study it, meditate on it, and learn from other anointed teachers and preachers of the Word.

God’s Word is a powerful weapon against the enemy, as mentioned in Ephesians 6:11-18. It is the sword of the Spirit and the belt of truth; a vital part of God’s spiritual armor we must put on to be prepared for spiritual warfare daily. The Word of God is also a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (see Psalm 119:105 – Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.).

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

How can I be sensitive toward God’s guidance in my life?

It takes practice and discipline to familiarize ourselves with God’s voice and leadership in our lives. He speaks to us personally and uniquely in a way that we will understand.

To be sensitive toward God’s guidance in your life is to rely on the Holy Spirit and obey God’s Word. When the Holy Spirit prompts you about a particular situation or reminds you of a scripture that will speak to your situation, you must obey what He is saying. And as mentioned earlier, God also uses others to guide and help you in your walk with Him. He may send them to correct you, discipline you, and give you the wisdom you can use in the future.

You don’t have to worry about missing out on His voice. After all, mistakes are part of life’s journey, and it is where we all grow according to Christlikeness. Simply walk forward with a grateful heart each day, learn about past mistakes, and do better today in partnership with the Holy Spirit. You are not alone in this journey. God is always with you; helping and guiding you each step, no matter what.

May God bless you in all your life’s endeavors, and may His kingdom come through Christ in you, the hope of glory.
