Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Protection

Knowing that we have a Heavenly Father who protects us day and night is such a great blessing as His children. You can wake up with a feeling of peace (Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Peace) of mind and heart, confident that you are safe and secure in Abba’s arms. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Such wisdom can truly cause our hearts to be grateful each day, to give Him praise and glory every morning for His faithful protection.

Here is a morning prayer for gratitude for God’s protection:

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify You for who You are. Thank You, for You are my protector, shield, and strength. I am confident in my walk, for I know that You are covering me and all my loved ones beneath Your wings of safety each day, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Moreover, you can also be thankful to those people who, on behalf of God, are protecting their loved ones by their own means. For instance, a parent’s love and protection for their children through the rules and regulations in their family, a faithful and godly friend whom you may or may not know is praying for you, a teacher who constantly guides their students, a pastor who is watching over God’s sheep, and so much more. These people manifest God’s protection in our lives as well, and they are one of the reasons to be thankful for each day. Do you have such people in your life? Lift them up to the Lord and give thanks for their presence.

In the Bible, there were written letters and instructions from God through His people and prophets. These people carried out their missions out of love and concern and faithfully wrote letters that kept and will continue to keep God’s people on the right path. We can thank God for His Word, which has protected His children powerfully against the schemes of the enemy and has helped us immensely in our new life in Christ Jesus. 

And the word of the Lord says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).

As you think about these things each day, you can fill your mornings with prayers of gratitude (Morning Prayer for Gratitude) that glorify God above all.

Will God still protect me if I sometimes forget to pray?

Saying a morning prayer of gratitude for protection is one way to acknowledge God’s faithfulness and goodness in our lives. His protection in our lives is one of the many promises He has for all those who take refuge in His name. However, what happens if you forget to pray for God’s protection?

It sometimes can’t be avoided when you forget to pray for God’s protection, especially when your day is crammed with things to do and you are simply too tired to pray. Know that your Heavenly Father doesn’t stop loving, protecting, and taking care of His children, even when we forget to talk to Him. He understands that we sometimes have good days, bad days, and busy days. Still, as soon as the Holy Spirit makes you remember, make time to pray. His grace is always sufficient. He is gentle to remind us when we forget about Him and His Word.

Regardless of our actions, God can’t deny who He is. 2 Timothy 2:13 (If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.) says that God remains faithful, even when His people are faithless. Abba Father continues to keep us safe, protected, and secure in His arms, even if we sometimes fail Him because that’s just who He is. Because of His great love, we should respond with all our heart, mind, and soul to love Him back with all that we can.
