Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Your House

Whether you are referring to a house you worked for and finally came to own, a new place you recently moved into, or a shelter that can finally give you and your family a comfortable place to stay, having a house is one of God’s ways of blessing you as His child. It is just one of the million ways that God expresses how much He loves His children by providing for all our needs and even the desires of our hearts.

You are here because you are deeply grateful to God for blessing you with a house, and trust that your Heavenly Father is celebrating with joy for you as well. Here is a morning prayer for gratitude for your house:

Heavenly Father, thank You for this wonderful day that You have given me. Waking up with a house of our own, I couldn’t be more thankful for Your grace. Come and do whatever You want in this home, for this house belongs to You, Abba, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

It can be overwhelming to wake up each day and finally get to live in your own house or move into a new home that starts a refreshing chapter for the whole family. A house can give you a better quality of life, comfort, and privileges for you and your family. It can also make your heart swell with gratitude as you wake up each morning and greet God.

Remember that our identity and value as a child of God aren’t based on our material blessings but solely on what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us. We are all equally valuable and loved by God, whether we own houses and cars or have no place to stay and no food to eat. 

Jesus showed us that even the Son of Man had nowhere to lay His head when He started His ministry here on earth (And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. Matthew 8:20). Even so, He constantly knew how much the Heavenly Father loved Him. We all can be grateful for this truly – that we are loved regardless of our situation in this life.

How do I dedicate my house to the Lord?

This can be an exciting time for you and your family as you get to live in your dream house. Having a nice place to stay after so many years of hard work and sacrifices, your house has finally been manifested. God is faithful in fulfilling that which you have desired. 

Dedicating your house to the Lord is one way to show Him appreciation, honor, and gratitude. It means that you are giving God full authority to take over your home, for it belongs to Him. You can pray over your house, have it anointed by a pastor or a spiritual leader, and release God’s blessings and presence all over the property.

More importantly, what you do inside your home truly reveals if a house is dedicated to the Lord. Aside from having your house offered to the Lord through prayer and anointing, let the fruit of the Spirit manifest in your life and in each family member. Love each other, no matter the challenges, forgive many times each day, be gentle and kind, and so on (see Galatians 5:22-23). This glorifies God in our house and shows that a house is dedicated to Him.

How can I show gratitude to God for my house?

Saying a morning prayer of gratitude for your house is a great way to express your thankfulness to God for what He has done. God is not expecting a return when He gives, but as His children, it is natural for us to express our gratitude by giving back unto Him what we can. 

So, other than praying to Him, there are other things you can do to show your gratitude to God for your house:

1. You can open your house to the works of the Kingdom of God, such as making it a place of fellowship, mentoring, Bible studies, and so on.
2. You can open your house for refugees if God leads you and touches your heart.
3. You can open your house to a friend who is lost and broken.
4. You can open your house as a safe place for counseling.
5. You can offer food and shelter to the needy and hungry as the Holy Spirit leads you.
6. You can open your house as a place of worship for fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

There are many other things that can make your house into a powerhouse of God’s blessings. As you partner with the Holy Spirit in sincerely showing your gratitude to God for your house, He will show you ways and instruct you in behaviors that will glorify God.

God knows your heart of gratitude for the house that He has given you. He sees your desire to bless Him and give back to Him in whatever way you can. It pleases Him, and He is proud of you as His child. 

As you and your household choose to honor and serve God, may He give you more blessings so that you may be His powerful channels of blessing in the Kingdom through Christ Jesus.
