Morning Prayer for Gratitude for Your Family

One of God’s greatest blessings in life is family. Whether they are your biological or adoptive family, spiritual family in the Kingdom of God, or friends that became family, they are some of the reasons we wake up each day with a grateful heart. Those families fill our lives with hope, joy, and color that make us who we are.

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify You on this wonderful morning. Thank You for surrounding me every morning with a family with whom I can be a vessel of Your love. Thank You for their lives, and may you always bless and protect each of them, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

As you partner with the Holy Spirit to pray for your family each day, you will overflow with reasons to be grateful to God. You can thank God for protecting your family daily, for His faithfulness in their lives, for giving them peace and hope in Christ Jesus, and for many other things that the Holy Spirit will show you.

You can also declare God’s Word of promise as you pray for your family. God has many promises in the Scriptures that make a great prayer for your family, such as Psalms 91 for divine protection, (For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. How can I show gratitude to my family?

Saying a morning prayer of gratitude for your family makes the heart of the Father swell with gladness while expressing your gratitude towards your family makes their hearts swell with joy. While offering God thanksgiving is important, verbally expressing your gratitude to your family is just as vital.

There are many ways you can show gratitude to your family. You can verbally express it and offer your thanks, or you can be more creative in expressing it. You can write them a thank you note, give them gifts along with your message, surprise them with a message, phone call, or email, or even pop in for a surprise visit.

Feel free to express your gratitude to your family because such is the will of God. In the Bible, when Jesus Christ healed ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19, only one came back to thank the Lord. Jesus asked where the other nine could be found. Upon hearing the answer, He did not just heal the man of leprosy but made him whole. 

Thanksgiving makes you and your family whole. When you are constantly aware of how much you are appreciated and loved by expressing your gratitude, such a family can conquer any mountain. After all, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
