Morning Prayer of Gratitude for Blessings

It is always the Father’s will to bless all people. Jesus said in Matthew 5:45 (That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.), “…For he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” And when you are grateful as you acknowledge God’s blessings in your life, it moves His heart just as you are also touched by those who appreciate all your efforts. Gratitude will always keep you in the position to receive more blessings because the Father is blessed by such a heart.

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

As you wake up in the morning, you can acknowledge God’s blessings in your life and bless His heart. Here is a morning prayer for gratitude for blessings:

Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful morning. As I contemplate Your goodness in my life, I am deeply grateful for Who You are and everything You have done. You have blessed me with many great things and are mindful of me. Yet, among all, You are the greatest blessing in my life. I love You, God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

It is an incomparable joy and peace when you are constantly aware of God’s blessings on your life; meditating on His goodness as soon as you wake up sets up a heavenly atmosphere and mood for you throughout the day. When you are thankful, you are walking the will of God, as 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

How can I be a good steward of God’s blessings?

God’s blessings come in two forms—physical and spiritual. As Christians, we know that God doesn’t just bless us physically and spiritually only so that we can keep the blessings to ourselves. After all, following the steps of Christ and being a faithful follower is all about loving others by denying yourself and walking in obedience to the Lord (see Luke 9:23 – And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.).

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Being a good steward of God’s blessings means acknowledging that all good things come from Him and giving Him all the right to access what has been given to you. For instance, God blessed you financially and called you to support a local church. Being a good steward of your finances is obeying what God wants. If God has blessed you spiritually, you are to use your spiritual gifts to serve and bless others.

The Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14–30 shows us what it is to be a good steward of God’s blessing. It is by increasing what He has given and continuously sharing your blessings that the light of Christ in you will shine onto those around you.

So, if you want to be a good steward of God’s blessing, create a deep relationship with God and walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit. Trust in His Word and instructions, and you will see greater blessings as you walk in obedience to God.

More importantly, stay grateful to the Lord each morning you wake up. The more thankful you are for His blessings, the more you become a good steward of His blessings, naturally and without trying hard.

How can I be a blessing to others?

Desiring to be a blessing to others is a blessing in itself. Know that the Father is pleased with you when you want to be a blessing to others. There are many ways to be a blessing to others, but it is always best to do it biblically since you want to be vigilant, discerning, and obedient to the Holy Spirit’s voice when blessing others. You don’t want the enemy using others to take advantage of your desire to be a blessing by lying to you about their needs or through emotional manipulations.

Being a blessing to others is putting their needs and desires above yours. Compassion compels you to be generous to others, patient and understanding in listening to people’s cries, being a friend to someone in pain, and so much more. The goodness of God flowing in you toward others truly makes you a blessing to others.

Doing good to others is a great blessing that has great eternal rewards. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

As you meditate in the morning about God’s blessings while keeping your gratitude for all He has done, may God continuously bless you as you walk by allowing you to be a blessing to others. May the people around you glorify the Father through your good deeds in Christ Jesus.
