Morning Prayer for a New Business

It is an exciting moment to vent into a new business, whether it is your first time or one of several businesses you have opened. You are excited about the opportunities you could have and the outstanding achievements and possibilities that could arise in the future. However, as every businessperson knows, there is always a risk in business. Whether you are excited about your new business or thinking about the risks, praying for your new business is one of the right things you can do.

One of the ways that we can pray for our business is by praying that God will prosper it so that our business can be a blessing to others. Here is one example of how you can pray in the morning for your new business:

Heavenly Father, You are the God from Whom everything comes. Thank You for this new business that I have. I pray that You would bless and prosper this venture that I am about to have—not so I can hoard wealth, but so I can bless others even more. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do you thank God for your business?

Everything comes from the LORD. He is the source of everything; the Creator of everything. The capital you had to amass to start a new business was not your own but from the LORD. We are only stewards of the things He entrusts to us: our finances and resources. Even the connections you have or the circumstances that helped you start your new business are there because of God’s orchestration. Starting a business is something you desire. Now that God has answered that request, we should thank Him for His grace, mercy, and provision. Thank God is one thing you can have as a morning prayer for your new business.

Heavenly Father, You are the God Who provides. Thank You for providing me with the resources I need to start my new business. This would not have been possible if not for your provision and orchestration. Thank You for the smooth processing of my business application and also for finding employees that are a good fit for my business. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do I dedicate a new business to God?

The business that you have ultimately comes from the LORD. As mentioned before, the capital and resources you needed to be able to start this new business are from God. Also, as Christians, in everything we do, we do it for the glory of God.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Ultimately, we are working not for ourselves or other men but God. We do business not primarily for our interest but for the interest of God’s kingdom. Wealth is not the primary goal of why we do business, but it is the expansion of God’s kingdom.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Father in heaven, You are the God I serve and live for. I dedicate my business to You and commit every work that I do in business to You. May my business be used for the expansion of Your kingdom and be a channel of blessing to other people. Since everything we do is for God and His glory, we should dedicate our business to God and commit our work and plans to Him. Ultimately, the business we do is all about Him and His kingdom.

How do I pray for my customers?

Of course, one of the challenges a new business must face is having customers or even being known to customers that such a new business exists. You can pray a morning prayer for your new business to prosper by praying for more customers to come to your new business and that what you offer will be known to them. With that, you can also include praying for your marketing and selling efforts.

Here is an example of how you can pray for customers:

Father in heaven, You are the God of wisdom. Give us wisdom as we do our marketing and selling initiatives so we will be able to come up with creative and effective strategies to become known in the market and sell well. I pray that customers will know about us and that they will try out my new business. I pray for an abundance of customers. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Starting a new business is starting a journey. There are exciting parts and challenging parts as well. Regardless of which part we are encountering, we should always come to God because as we run our new business, we depend on Him and run it with Him.
