Sunday Morning Prayer For Business

Christians in business pray to God every morning before they go to work and manage their business. They pray to God every morning because they dedicate their business to God and their time to work. This is also because they depend on God to sustain their business. You can still pray for your business, even on a Sunday morning. Just because it’s Sunday, which is a rest day, there are still things that you can pray to God for.

In (And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Mark 2:27), Jesus tells us that the Sabbath is made for man and not man for the Sabbath. In other words, it is there so that we can rest. Rest here does not mean not doing anything but enjoying God as you rest. 

Here is an example of what you can pray for your business on a Sunday morning:

Father in heaven, You are the God in whom I find peace and refreshment when resting. I pray that as I take this day off from managing my business, I will not rest alone but instead rest in joy with You. May I rest not just in the relaxing things that I do today but also rest in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

After a long week of working and managing your business, praying for your rest on a Sunday morning is one of the things you can pray for. It may not be directly related to your business, but you cannot continue working for the rest of your life if you don’t rest.

What is a good Prayer for Sunday morning?

Aside from praying for your rest after a week of working on your business, there are other matters you can pray for regarding your business that are timely for a Sunday morning. One example is the income of your business or sales. While this does not apply to all kinds of businesses, it is relevant to a large number of businesses. 

One example is a cafe. If you are a Christian businessman and your rest day is on a Sunday (giving you time for church), you will probably close your cafe on that day. From a business perspective, you want to be open every day because one day of being open means more income and less inconvenience for those who want to go to your cafe only to find it closed. That is why, in this aspect, God’s sustenance is something that you can pray for your business on a Sunday morning. God can sustain your business without any problem because everything in this universe belongs to Him, as written in (Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.Deuteronomy 10:14).

Another prayer you can offer is a prayer of thanksgiving towards God. As you just finished your week, you can thank God on that Sunday morning for your sales, the business deals you have closed, and any other things to be celebrated. The things you thank God for should not necessarily be big things. Even the small things are worth thanking God for. 

Whether in good times or bad times for your business, everything works together for the good of those who love God. That is why 1 Thessalonians 5:18 teaches us to rejoice and give thanks to God, no matter the circumstances.

How do I pray for my customers?

(Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.Proverbs 16:3) teaches us that we must commit our work to God. If we commit our work and business to God, that means we have to close on Sundays, which is a concern as a business owner. People could have bought something but didn’t because you were closed. 

This is where praying on a Sunday morning for God’s sustenance of your business comes in, which also means praying for your customers. You can pray for your customers to return to your business, even if they find it closed on Sundays. You can also pray and confess that even if You are closed on Sundays, your business can still get by.

Here is an example of how you can pray for your customers and business on a Sunday morning:

Father in heaven, I thank You because You are the One who sustains my business. My business is fine and shall still thrive, even if I close it on Sunday, as I dedicate that day to rest with You. Everything comes from You alone. I also pray for my customers that despite finding my business closed on Sundays, they might still come back on a different day and respect the fact that we are closed every Sunday. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

There have been findings that businesses that close on Sundays earn much more revenue than businesses that don’t close on Sundays. The point is that God is the One who sustains your business, and you have nothing to worry about if You honor Him in Your business.

How do you thank God on Sunday?

As mentioned before, thanking God for the things that have occurred over the previous week or even month is one of the things you can pray on a Sunday morning related to your business. You can thank God for His sustenance that your business is still there, whether your business is thriving or struggling. Perhaps you were able to sell a lot more than usual during the previous week, or you achieved the objectives you had planned in your company. Whether big or small, you should thank God for it. Even if things are in a difficult spot for your business, there are still things for which you can thank God. 

You can do this by simply taking a pause before you start your day and thinking of everything that has happened for the past few days, weeks, months, and even years. As you ponder on this, think of the things you can be grateful to God, whether they are as trivial as being able to go work safely without accidents or being able to close major deals. Doing that will make you realize that there are a thousand things you can thank God for. It is written in ( Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 5:20)  that we are to give thanks to God always.

Heavenly Father, You are the God of grace and mercy. Thank You for all the graces and mercies that You have poured out to me and my business. I thank You for the contracts that we were able to sign with clients and for leading those clients to us. I also thank You for helping us achieve the goals we had planned—all of which we ascribe to You, Father. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Even if your business is closed on Sundays, you don’t have to worry about anything. Jesus taught us that anxiety does not extend our life span. We are not to be anxious about tomorrow, especially if we are doing things to honor God today.
