Morning Prayer for Husband and Wife

As a married couple, praying together is vital. It is your primary connection to God. Only God can keep a relationship, friendship, and marriage last for a lifetime because He is the author of true love. 1 John 4:16 says, “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

, “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

Waking up every morning to pray to God as husband and wife is a gift and a sign of unity in Christ. You can say a morning prayer in this manner:

Heavenly Father, we praise and magnify Your beauty today. Thank You for this wonderful morning that You have blessed us with and for Your presence that strengthens our minds, soul, and body. I bless my spouse today, and may Your will be done in our lives, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Morning Prayer for Husband and Wife

Praying to God in the morning and whenever the Holy Spirit prompts you is important in a godly marriage because of spiritual warfare. Satan goes after marriages to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) God’s plan for the couple, the family, and their impact on societies and nations.

The husband and wife must be so rooted in Christ that their values and identity do not rest on each other but in Jesus Christ alone. When a couple prays together, the enemy flees, and his weapons against them won’t prosper.

What can a couple pray for in the morning?

Saying a morning prayer to God as husband and wife is one way to empower your marriage and family life. As you deepen your communion and communication with the Father through prayer as a couple, His angels will come to protect your marriage and fulfill the Word of God.

There are many things you can pray for in the morning as a couple. As the Holy Spirit leads you, He may sometimes bring a Scripture to mind for you to pray and declare, such as Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” You can also pray for others whom God puts in your heart, such as a family friend, a relative, or your children. You can also pray for specific needs as a couple and so much more.

"But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

You must allow the Holy Spirit to help you in your prayers so that you can pray and declare things according to the will of God above your own desires. After all, only God’s perfect will can come to pass.

“And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” – 1 John 5:15

What Scriptures can a husband and wife pray for in the morning?

As mentioned earlier, it is always best to partner with the Holy Spirit in our prayer time with God because only the Spirit knows the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:11).

There are many promises of God, including words of encouragement, hope, peace, protection, and deliverance, in the Bible that you can pray for in the morning.

1. Psalm 91 is a great prayer and declaration when praying for your protection as a couple and for your loved ones.

2. John 14:27 is Jesus’ promise of peace of mind and a reminder not to be afraid of troubles in this world.

3. Isaiah 26:3-4 makes for a great prayer and declaration to have God’s perfect peace by fixing your eyes on Him.

4. Philippians 4:19 gives encouragement and hope for God’s unlimited resources and provisions.

The list goes on as you meditate daily and study the Scriptures of God. The more you read the Bible, the more your knowledge and understanding of God’s will, ways, promises, and principles will come to mind as you pray in the morning.
