Morning Prayer for Business Renewal

The government regulates businesses. Businesses need to be registered if we want them to be operating legally, whether they are a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or limited liability company. A business’ registration, permit, or license expires from time to time. That is why, if the owner wants to keep doing business, he or she must renew it.

Heavenly Father, You are the God Who sustains. I pray that You keep on sustaining my business and that it will keep on running for many more years. Thank you for all the grace and mercy you have poured into my business. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do you run a business biblically?

We run our business by being righteous in all our dealings. That means not resorting to crooked ways but always maintaining the integrity of our hearts as written in Proverbs 19:1. The Bible tells us that we are to live godly, upright, and self-controlled lives, and that is how we should also run our businesses (For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:11-12).

If we are to run a business biblically, that means we are to adhere to God’s Word in every aspect of our activities. One example is compliance with government requirements. Even if it can be tedious at times, the God-honoring thing to do is comply with what the government requires of us. Submitting our business to the authorities that God has appointed over us is one way of running our business biblically because rebelling against them (except if they are compelling us to sin) is contrary to God’s Word (What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? Romans 13:1-3). That is why, if they require us to renew our permissions, pay our taxes, and do other necessary things, we are to submit to them as written in (Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 1 Peter 2:13).

These human institutions, though not perfect, are appointed by God over us to uphold that which is good and punish that which is evil. If not for these regulations, illegal businesses would be thriving everywhere in great numbers.

What is the prayer for renewal?

Praying for the renewal of your business would mean praying for a smooth renewal of your business permit, license, or registration. In that regard, you can pray for your processing to go well, as written in (For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. 3 John 1:2). You can pray that bureaucracy, corruption, and incompetence don’t delay or hinder the renewal process of your business. Pray that you can continue doing your business without interruptions that could hurt your business, especially if you are in the middle of a project, contract, or particular initiative.

Heavenly Father, You are the God Who appointed the government as authority over us. I pray as I submit to them by submitting my business renewal requirements and processing them; that they shall also do their jobs correctly and process my business renewal without delay. We are dependent on God for everything. We show our dependence on God through prayer.
