Financial breakthrough (Morning Prayer for Financial Breakthrough) is among the top prayer requests in the Christian community. After all, finances play a major role in people’s lives, from daily needs to comfortable living, achieving dreams and desires, and, most importantly, the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
As you are here looking for a morning prayer for financial breakthrough for God’s people, know that it is God’s will to bless His people financially—for His glory, His Kingdom, and for drawing men to Christ. You can say a prayer in this manner:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this day. As I think about Your people in the ministry, I thank You because they shall lack nothing in Your name. You bless us in all aspects of our lives, including our finances and businesses, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Money is a powerful tool when used righteously and with wisdom. It can alleviate a person’s poverty, feed the hungry, make a divine dream come true, raise an orphan and so impact a life, and much more. However, when the desire for money is greater than the desire to seek God and His kingdom, that is when derailment and sabotage threaten God’s people.
1 Timothy 6:9 says, “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.”

Morning Prayer for Financial Breakthrough for God’s People
While financial blessings and advances are crucial in building up God’s kingdom on earth, it is important for God’s people to handle their money with wisdom, discernment, and spiritual discipline so that, despite the temptations that may come, we are guarded by God’s Word at all times.
“Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”
—Ephesians 6:11-12
How do you break through financially in Church ministry?
Having a church ministry is a great privilege and honor from God whether you are a pastor, youth leader, teacher, prophet, apostle, missionary, or part of a worship team. Jesus Christ said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.). And more often than not, there are many of God’s people who are struggling financially due to their lack of support, wisdom for generating income, a good education, a career or profession, or because of a cycle of poverty in the family.

To break through financially in your church ministry, you must:
1. Fast and pray.
Whether corporately as a church or individually, depending on how the Holy Spirit is leading you, prayer and fasting are keys to financial breakthroughs. God’s people fast and pray so that the Father’s perfect will can come upon their lives, and that includes freedom from the spirit of poverty, greed, bad situations in the family, etc. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

2. Give your tithes and offerings faithfully.
Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” When God’s people are faithfully giving their tithes and offerings, God promises there is a return and a reward for that.
3. Be a generous giver and support other church ministries.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 6:38, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” While it is sometimes your mindset that you can only start to give once you already have enough finances, the Bible says otherwise—give first, and it shall be given to you. If you desire a financial breakthrough in the ministry, decide in your heart to bless someone else’s ministry financially, even if it is just a small amount. Consider the widow of Zarephath, who was prepared to die along with her son. It was desperate times, and she had only a handful of flour and oil. But she gave their last meal to feed the prophet Elijah; as a result, she never ran out of flour and oil for food (see 1 Kings 17:7-16).
4. Find a job if you are able and don’t succumb to laziness.
God did not give us skills and talents for nothing. It is for the purpose of glorifying Him through our service, using our skills and talents, as well as for earning and surviving our earthly needs and wants. Proverbs 10:4 says, “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” If you want financial achievement, it can sometimes mean finding a job and trusting God for divine work that won’t clash with your ministry schedules. This is in addition to the good pay, which can aid your family, ministry, and personal well-being.
Ask God for wisdom when it comes to praying for financial breakthrough. Trust that He will speak to you and reveal to you His plans so that you may advance financially during your church ministry.
Is praying for financial blessings worldly?
Financial blessings and breakthroughs are among the most controversial topics in Christian circles and communities. Some people think that praying and declaring financial wealth and blessing is not from God and that to do this is worldly and materialistic.
While money can be a tool for deception in God’s people, it isn’t right to completely believe that praying for financial blessings is worldly as well. After all, God always looks at the intents of our hearts. If a Christian wants only personal gain, then they are setting themselves up for destruction (1 Timothy 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.). And God won’t answer such a prayer request because the motive is wrong. James 4:3 says, “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” We can say that God’s not answering a prayer for a financial breakthrough, in this case, is still His grace at work. He doesn’t want money to destroy His people. On the other hand, when you pray for your finances so that you may be a blessing and you want to support ministries, missionary works, orphans, etc., then such a prayer isn’t worldly at all.

Morning Prayer for Financial Breakthrough for God’s People
It is important that in matters of money and material blessings, we must be discerning, firm in our godly principles and values in life, and always rooted and grounded with God’s Word so that we won’t be deceived and tempted by the enemy.
More importantly, we must seek God first and His Kingdom above all; then, all other things will just be added in Christ Jesus (see Matthew 6:33).
May God bless you and your ministry, and we declare God’s blessings and breakthrough in Jesus’ name.
