Morning Prayer for Business Hustlers

When we think about the word “hustle,” we sometimes imagine a sports team coach saying, “Hustle up!” to his athletes. That’s because when we say “hustle,” we mean working hard. Just as athletes “hustle” to perform well in their game, so do businesspeople hustle to grow their businesses. Thus when saying “business hustle,” we are talking about one’s hard work when it comes to their business. With that, to have a business that we are working hard on succeed is one of the prayers that we would indeed have.

Heavenly Father, You are the One Who causes things to bear fruit. I pray that the toil and effort I put into hustling my business shall bear fruit and that my business shall grow and succeed. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

3 John 1:2 tells us that we are to pray so that all may go well with us. That means if we pray for our business, there is nothing wrong with praying for our business to succeed. We are to pray that things may go well with our business and other concerns in life.

How do I pray for motivation?

Hustling or working hard can be very difficult if we are not motivated. That is why as Christians, we are always to go back and remind ourselves why we are doing what we are doing. That means we are to remind ourselves that everything we do as a hustle in business, we do for the glory of God, just as 1 Corinthians 10:31 teaches us.

It is also written in Colossians 3:23 that we work heartily for the LORD and not for others, ourselves, or even money. We are hustling our business to make it grow, not so that we can hoard wealth but so that all the more we can be a channel of blessing to others and be the salt and light. It is written in 2 Corinthians 9:11 that God blesses us so that we can be generous and bless others. We can also pray for the Holy Spirit to reignite that passion in hustling our business for the LORD.

How do you pray for hustle?

There are a couple of things that we can pray for regarding hustling. One is that we can and should pray that we will be hustlers or continue to be hustling. In other words, we can pray to continue to be hard-working and diligent. To be productive, we must be diligent and hard-working in running our business.

Proverbs 10:4 teaches us that the hands of the diligent make them rich simply because they work hard for it, not like the sluggard, who does nothing. Another thing you can pray for when it comes to hustling is the hustling itself. If you are going to work hard, you would want every effort you exert to be efficient and count; in other words, having the wisdom to not just work hard but also work smart. For example, a person who chops wood with a dull ax works hard, but the one who chops wood with a sharp ax works smartly and efficiently and can chop more wood because his ax is sharp. 

In other words, we must make sure that we are working smartly and efficiently. We don’t just work hard for the sake of working hard. One can work for eight hours and only have four hours’ worth of progress, while one who works smartly can work for four hours and have eight hours’ worth of progress. That is why we should pray to God for wisdom and understanding on how to do things wisely and be good at what we do.

We can ask God for wisdom as we hustle. It is written in Proverbs 2:6 that all wisdom comes from Him. God is the source of everything, even the wisdom that we need as we hustle. That is why He should be the first person we come to if we need wisdom regarding business hustling.

Working hard is often negatively viewed because it seems to be all about toil and hardship. However, working hard – whether for our business, career, studies, etc. – is something we delight in doing when we understand that we are doing it for God and His glory.
