Are you not a morning person? Do you often find yourself waking up later than anyone else? Do you wonder how you can start the day with God when you wake up late in the morning? This may be a struggle, since waking up early requires great discipline to achieve. However, be comforted in knowing that God made each one of us to be unique and some things that work for others may not work for you. Other people pray to God at three o’clock or four o’clock in the morning, and that’s fine! Each of us must find our own way and individually work out our own personal relationship with God.
So how do you start the day with God when you wake up late due to work or any other reason? Will God still consider that morning? Of course! God is not limited by our human concept of time. The moment you open your eyes after long hours of sleep, no matter what time it is, the grace and mercy of God kisses you and greets you with a ‘Good morning.’ You can begin to pray to God from that time on. You don’t have to be time conscious before God or push yourself to be someone you’re not.
We must only become like Jesus, not like anyone else. It is true that Jesus might wake up early in the morning to commune with the Father one on one, but that is simply because He had a great mission to accomplish. As Christians, we know that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will be able to wake up early if we ask Him to help us.
If you want to get up early like Jesus, you need the help of the Holy Spirit, who will enable you with the grace and power to do so. As for now, simply start at your own pace and begin your prayers the moment you wake up, no matter what time it is. Give thanks and praise to God in Christ Jesus, who woke you up and has declared His promise over your life.
