What to do when I start to pray in the morning but doze off in the middle

Have you ever experienced praying to God in the morning when all of sudden you realize that your mind is already thinking about something else? Have you been asking what to do when you start to pray in the morning but doze off in the middle? Well, many believers are also going through this in their prayer life. With the things that have been going on in our daily lives, our minds can easily capture thoughts and pictures that have a strong impact on us during the day. And I believe that the only solution to this is to make God the strongest part of our day so that as we pray we are so focused on Him since our entire day is soaked in His presence. This is the point at which most believers who struggle in prayer do not take over their authority. God has given us stewardship over our selves, and we are the ones who can choose to direct our lives in the direction of God’s will. In the generation of social media and fast-paced lives, we have allowed ourselves to be constantly distracted. But a Christian who succeeds is the one who is disciplined in his/her life. Therefore, Christians must do everything it takes to fill themselves up with God and never leave any room for other things to consume them.

God will never punish you or get angry at you when you doze off in the middle of your morning prayer. He is a loving and gentle Father. So, if you realize that you doze off in your morning prayer time, simply get back to God and capture the thought that took away your attention from God. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” When you take that particular thought that distracted you from the obedience of Christ, that situation or thought will automatically be submitted unto the will of God. And you will see amazing changes in your daily life.

Dozing off in prayer can sometimes be a way for us to know what matters more to us than God does, and we can easily pluck out the lies and influence of the enemy in our lives. So, by the grace and help of the Holy Spirit, you will come out even more powerful in your morning prayer, and the peace of God will crush Satan under your feet throughout the whole day.
