Prayer When You Are Battling In Spirit

It can be tough to wake up knowing that your situation hasn’t changed. Sometimes, you can’t even think about praying to God or reading the Bible because your mind is focused on the things you are dealing with in your personal life. Beginning your day with a prayer, even when you are battling in spirit, is incredibly important, because we know that only God is able to deliver us and redeem us from troubling situations in life. It is a deliberate and an intentional effort that changes the very state of our mind. Our prayer changes our perception as we release faith, which in turn affects the situation. How does that happen? We must begin by renewing our minds with the Word of God.

As we engage with God’s word and commune with Him, we speed up the process of thinking like He does. You must store up God’s Word of promise and stir up the faith in order for you to break through in your morning prayers with God. You must realign your mind with what God is saying, more than what the enemy or your situation is telling you.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” If you declare this Word over your situation, you don’t have to battle anything at all. Let God do the battling for you, despite your struggles or situation. Remember and be encouraged that situations are never permanent, but our God is constant and steadfast.

Of course, prayer is not complete without thanksgiving and praising the Lord. Begin Your communication with God with thanksgiving. Appreciate the fact that God will never leave you or forsake you, even in your weaknesses. God is always Your defender and He knows the truth. You are secured in Christ.  Praise Him for who He is, despite your situations in life. Thank Him in advance for the breakthrough that is about to happen in your life. That is how the enemy is trying to drain you, by sending you into battle mode. When you are battling in spirit, declare the victory of Christ and enter into God’s rest by simply trusting in Your heavenly Father, who will take care of everything that matters to you. He is faithful. Then you will be able to begin your day with a prayer, without having to focus on the battles of life. God has you in his mighty hands!
