Restoration is always the will of God for our lives. When Job lost everything in his life, God restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much of what he had before (see Job 42:10 – And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.). In the Bible, we can read about God’s faithfulness in restoring the family of Joseph. Can God restore a broken family?

As discussed earlier, restoration is always the will of God. When our hearts are broken, God wills to heal, deliver, restore and make us whole again from all the pain and trauma.

Some situations in our lives may be irreversible, and the consequences of our decisions and sin may be dire, but God is able to work all things together for good (see Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.). For instance, in the story of Joseph, though the lost years of memories and the death of his mother could no longer be reversed, God restored their hearts and reunited them once again in the land of Egypt. From there, they lived a prosperous life under Joseph’s rulership in the land.
