Reading the Word of God first thing in the morning is very important in our Christian walk of faith, for it is not just spiritual food that strengthens us, but it also protects our body and soul from dark days and the schemes of the enemy. But what if you don’t feel like reading the bible in the morning? How can you pray? If you have been asking yourself such questions, then God must have led you to this article.
The Bible said in Ecclesiastes 3 that we all go through different seasons in life. In our walk of faith in Christ, we do experience seasons of refreshment, seasons of warfare, seasons of quietness in the Lord, seasons of birthing, and so on. However, the Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:2 that God’s Word must be preached and we must be ready to share it no matter the season. It gives us the clear message that in all seasons of our lives, only the Word of God must remain within us.
Regardless of how you “feel” every morning, whether you feel like reading the Bible or not, simply open the Word of God and read it. What you feel doesn’t really matter. Even if you don’t fully understand God’s Word, that’s okay, because it is Your spirit that receives the Word of God. Understanding will come to you later, once the Holy Spirit reveals it. That’s why it is so important to read the Bible every morning and communicate with God, regardless of how you feel. At the right time, the stored knowledge of God’s Word will be illuminated in your life by the Holy Spirit, so revelation and understanding will follow. You can also ask the Holy Spirit to stimulate a deep desire within you to know God through His word. The fact is that every child of God has that deep desire and leaning towards God’s word. If you are a born-again believer, you simply have to connect to that aspect.
In order for you to pray in the morning and read your Bible, regardless of how you feel, you simply have to deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Jesus. That’s what He said. Simply read God’s Word and communicate with Him. As a child of God, when you begin to do this, it will become a natural and automatic habit formed through the consistent pursuit of knowing your own Father in Heaven.
